L’Affaire Di Falco (2003)

After a two year long investigation, The Di Falco Case was the first effort about child sexual abuse in the roman catholic church in France ever. It tells the story of Marc, in his forties, who was abused by then priest Jean-Michel Di Falco when he was between 12 and 15 years old. Di Falco later became bishop of Paris and the spokesman of the catholic church for more than a decade. Marc filed a lawsuit, which was dismissed because of the status of limitation. The last part of the book is an open debate about reforming the law of status of limitation. It was eventually changed later on by the French parliament. Di Falco is now a free retired bishop, despite the lawsuit of a second victim, which also hit the time limit.
